About Us

Central Designs Organization, Nashik (CDO) is one of the pioneer institutions of Water Resources Department of Government of Maharashtra. CDO is more than 60 years old. It was established by the Government of Bombay (Mumbai) in 1959. Considering the local conditions in Maharashtra CDO developed over the period its own design practices for Earth Dam, Gravity Dam, Gates, large CD works, Power Houses and Large L.I. Schemes. Over last many years, BIS has also come up with standards and codes of many subjects. But having begun early and having tested the vigorous needs of construction, CDO still maintain its own flavor. CDO over the years has developed the knowledge & data base pertaining to the designs of projects in water resources sector and has made significant contribution in designing large number of Irrigation projects and is continuously striving to meet client’s requirement by providing technologically appropriate, workable, cost effective and time bound engineering solutions.
